Restoring Enter Find Mode

Why would you want to restore Enter Find Mode when you can restore Perform Find? There aren't many applications, but the most common is restoring find criteria and allowing a user to enter additional find criteria. Let's say you want to allow users to perform a find, but only locate records created today.

1. Create at least one new record that contains today's date
2. Manually perform a find for "//" in the Date Entry field. "//" is the symbol for the current date.
3. Create a script with Enter Find Mode [Restore, Pause] and Perform Find

Restore Enter Find Mode script in RESTORE.fp5

4. Click OK to accept the script

This script will enter find mode with today's date already in the Date Entry field and allow users to enter additional find criteria. The Date Entry field does not need to be present on the current layout. In fact, you are probably better off removing the Date Entry field from the find layout so you don't confuse users.
