Show Message Basics
The Show Message script step is most commonly used to present messages about what is happening during a script. For instance, you might want to inform a user to turn on the printer at the beginning of a script. Or, maybe you want to let a user know when a long script is finished. There are so many uses for the Show Message script step that only a fraction can be covered here in these exercises. Here is a simple example that demonstrates how to combine the If script step and Show Message to produce conditional messages.
This is one of the most common uses.

The color found in the Text Entry field on the current record determines which message will appear.
This is a simple example, but you can already see that whatever you can test for with an If script step
can result in a custom message.
